ID Requirements
Per the Michigan & Ohio Secretary of State laws, a person with any one of the following items, if current or issued within 5 years, may be used for valid identification. A photograph or a copy of an ID is NOT allowed.
Acceptable forms of Identification are as follows:
1. State of Michigan & Ohio issued Drivers license or State ID:
Any other Unexpired Identification Card that is issued by the United States Government or a State or Tribal Government, that contains the individuals photograph, signature, physical description, expiration date, & an identifying number.
2. A unexpired, valid United States Passport.
3. Other Michigan & Ohio approved identification card: IE: Military ID or other Drivers License or State issued ID from another state:
(provided that it is unexpired, contains a photograph, a physical description, signature, an identifying number & expiration date.)
4. A passport issued by a foreign government : provided that it has been stamped by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services & is unexpired.
5. Inmate identification card issued by the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, if the signer is in custody.
