Notary Client Checklist: 

  1. Gather & prepare your documents.

    Ensure your document is complete and ready for notarization. Fill out the document, but do not sign it yet; the notary must witness your        signature. 

    2.  Review the Document:

         Understand Your Document(s): Know the purpose of your document and the type of notarial act required (e.g., acknowledgment,                   jurat).If unsure, consult with the party requesting the notarization or a attorney/legal advisor. 

 

    3.  Bring Proper Identification: 

         Valid ID: Bring a government-issued photo ID such as a Driver's license, State ID card, or passport. The ID must be current or issued             within the last five years and contain your signature & photograph, physical description & Identifying number. 

     4. Know Your Next Steps:

         Follow-up Actions: Be aware of any additional steps required after notarization, such as making copies, mailing the document to a                 specific party or filing it with facility, or a government agency.
